  • Better Quality of Care

  • Helps Ease Dental Fear

Past experiences, fear of needles, fear of the dental drill and gag reflexes can all cause dental fear or anxiety. If any uncertainty is keeping you from getting the care you need, you are not alone.

To help patients relax and have a more enjoyable dental experience, we offer different levels of sedation here at our Cross Road Dental practice. With different levels to suit unique needs and fears, you no longer need to feel afraid of going to the dentist. Dr. Nabil Gergis is methodical and gentle in his anesthetic technique, keeping patients as comfortable as possible.

Levels of Sedation

Local Anesthetic

Common Procedures: Fillings and Root Canals

This is a sedation technique that numbs the area of the mouth the dentist will be working on. It usually wears off later the same day.

Oral Sedation

Common Procedures: Wisdom Tooth Extraction

This is a pill taken about an hour prior to the appointment that makes the patient drowsy and relaxed.

Nitrous Oxide

Common Procedures: Minor Surgical Procedures

Nitrous oxide provides minimal sedation that allows the patient to relax, but keeps them awake to communicate with the dentist. Also known as laughing gas, this sedation wears off quickly.

IV Sedation

Common Procedures: Full Mouth Reconstruction

This is a quick sedation method that is administered intravenously. This form of sedation gives the dentist more control over the level of sedation. Most patient fall asleep with this type of sedation and do not remember anything about the appointment.
